Learn more about our facilitator, Deb O’Brien, MS, LPC:
Deb was raised in a large Christian family and saved at the age of 5 in my Grandmother’s VBS Class. She was a Division 1 scholarship gymnast at Penn State (1985-’89) where she also participated in international missions trips with Campus Crusade for Christ/Athletes in Action throughout her early 20’s. It was through these years, the Lord deeply captured her heart and she’s lived surrendered to Him ever since.
She lived through the loss of her first husband of 11 years, and has been married to her second husband, Chris, for almost 18 years. She is the mother of 4 children (Josh, Samuel, Sarah, and Leah, ages 30, 27, 25, and 15), plus 2 amazing daughters-in-law, Tori and Gabrielle.
After living through significant traumatic losses throughout her life, Deb has always had a heart to minister to other hurting hearts and point them to Jesus, their only Hope. As a result, she has served/participated in various ministry events in various church settings over the course of 30 years.
Deb has worked a total of 15+ years in public and private school settings counseling students of all ages (elementary, middle school, and high school). As a Licensed Professional Counselor she has spent the last 10 years working as a Christian Counselor in a private practice setting. She offers a hope-filled, Christ-centered, clinically supported approach to issues of trauma/PTSD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, anxiety/panic, depression, abuse, addictions, body/self-image, loss and grief, behavior management, parenting, blended family issues, women’s issues, eating disorders, self-harm, anger management, relational conflict, and boundary issues. Over the last several years, she has spent some time teaching and supervising graduate level counseling students at Cairn University, as well as Licensure candidate counselors in a private practice setting.
Deb currently lives in the Warminster, PA area with her husband, Chris, and youngest daughter, Leah.
